Born in Pisa on July, 17, 1953.

Degree in Agriculture Science in the University of Pisa on 1978 (thesis on the management of a dairy cow farm).

Post doctor position c/o FIAT AGRI  from 1979 to 1980.

Director of some private farms from 1980 to 1983.

Researcher in the Institute of "Zootecnica e Zoognostica" (Animal Breeding and Livestock Judging) in the the Veterinary College of the University of Pisa from 1983 to 1987.

Associate Professor of Poultry production in the college of Veterinary, actually Department of Veterinary Science Of the University of Pisa 1992 up to now.

Contract professor of wild animal breeding technologies in the college of Agriculture Science of the University of Florence from 1994 to 2001.

As contract professor of Animal Breeding worked in the University of Maçambique in 1994, and, as F.A.O. Consultant, worked in Vietnam and trained some Korean, Turkish, Egyptian and Vietnamese technicians on duck and geese breeding.

Main research interest: duck production (old papers) and wild animal breeding and managment (more recent papers), published more than 300 scientific papers.
